It seems like a day does not go by without seeing members of the Trump family in the news in somewhat controversial contexts, and the recent incident around Donald Trump’s son, Eric, about “Pocahontas” is heating up on social media.
It all started when President Trump referred to Senator Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas,” drawing a lot of negativity from both sides. The term is seen as offensive in many places.
As can be expected, the 45th U.S. president did not retract his statement and seemed comfortable with what he had said. Some of his critics believe it is a new distraction aimed at taking some of the heat off the Russia scandal.
And in response to the many of the harsh comments that quickly started pouring in, Eric shared a tweet that was seen as problematic by many on social media.
According to Eric, the ABC reporter who initially pointed out the controversy was being a hypocrite for describing it as offensive, considering that Disney owned the network and therefore benefited from the profits of Pocahontas, the movie in one way or another.
Twitter is on fire about the incident right now, with many users pointing out the enormous contextual differences to Eric and plenty of jabs at his intellect.
This does not seem to have had any impact on the president’s son so far though, and it would not be surprising if he quickly forgets about the incident in a couple of days.
Moreover, looking at recent trends around the family, the reason for that may be yet another controversial statement made by someone in the circle.
The irony of an ABC reporter (whose parent company Disney has profited nearly half a billion dollars on the movie “Pocahontas”) inferring that the name is “offensive” is truly staggering to me.

No matter what one’s opinion on Trump is, there is definitely no shortage of material for discussion.
Critics now call the presidency, a reality show, except some of the plots have real consequences around the globe.
