Donald Trump Could Punish Post-Brexit UK If He Is Not Invited To Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Wedding

It is no secret that President Donald Trump likes to overreact to things, but it looks like he might push the situation with the British royal wedding even further than some thought.

After initial reports suggested that the 45th U.S. president might not be invited to the wedding as a matter of principle, we have seen some negative comments from some Trump supporters, and now they have reached a point of threats.

According to Michael Wolff, the author of the controversial book, Fire And Fury: Inside The Trump White House, and recent reports, not inviting Trump to the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could result in repercussions on trade deals and the way members of the royal family are treated on U.S. soil.

To make matters worse, Prince Harry and his future wife are very close to Trump’s predecessor, former President Barack Obama, and they reportedly want him at the wedding. This is something that Trump might see as a personal affront.

Some of the “threats” sound a bit exaggerated, such as claims that Trump is going to treat the Queen like a celebrity star upon his next meeting with her, possibly in an attempt to embarrass her. Whether this will have any effect or not is another story, but Trump’s approach to the situation has already raised some eyebrows.

What is more frightening is that Trump might choose to negatively alter a post-Brexit deal with the United Kingdom, something which could impact the lives of millions. Hopefully, the president will not go that far, but we have already seen some other displays of “nuclear” reactions from his side, so this would not be that surprising.

The situation with Trump’s attendance to the royal wedding is still under question anyway, but at this point it is not very likely that we are going to see him present at the event, considering everything that has been exchanged between both sides. It remains to be seen if this will have any serious long-term repercussions.
