Stassi Schroeder, who gained fame for her role in Vanderpump Rules, has been drawing a lot of negative attention lately following a joke she made that many described as tasteless and even disgusting.
The whole controversy started when Schroeder posted a selfie with the caption “Nazi Chic,” which immediately gathered a lot of negativity and focused many hateful comments on her.
Schroeder did eventually realize what she had done and deleted the post, but not before it became a viral sensation, complete with its own hashtag #dumpstassi. Indeed, many people are calling for repercussions right now, with some people targeting her sponsorship from certain brands on her podcast.
She tried to turn the situation into a joke with a follow-up post, but that did not seem to go over very well either, and in the end, Schroeder is in for a pretty rough start of the new year.
@Andy nothing but class from Stassi. I hope someone at your network is smart enough to fire her before you lose viewers. pic.twitter.com/sUOmPUcLHm

It is questionable whether she will be able to recover from that, as other celebrities have seen their careers killed for arguably even less. Sometimes people just are not very forgiving when it comes to joking on certain topics, and while someone in Schroeder’s position should probably know better, it is often impossible to predict how the Internet is going to respond to something seemingly small and irrelevant.
The situation might die down at this point, and Schroeder has tried to sweep it under the rug, but it is not clear if she will be able to do that successfully, now that the damage has been done and the incident has spread.
One disgusted follower said this on the incident, “How could you be so ignorant!?! How is the world would you think there’s anything funny about Nazi anything!! It was never a funny word and will never be taken as a joke! Duh!! #firestassi #getaclue.”
In November, the TV personality lost advertisers after she criticized the #MeToo movement.
