Drake might be facing the most challenging moment of his decade-old career and he will need all the help in the industry to weather the storm.
GOOD Music rapper Pusha T, 41, released a diss song last week called “Infrared” that went after the Canadian rap music star for using a ghostwriter, which is something that is frowned upon in hip-hop culture.
Drake, 31, quickly responded with his own track, Duppy Freestyle, where he mocked Pusha for being weak as a rapper and jealous of his success.
The Internet was adamant, the “Hotline Bling” singer won the first round and probably helped promote the Virginia native’s Daytona album that was released on May 25.

Kanye West‘s acolyte was not done and decided to hit back very hard on Tuesday with “The Story of Adidon” in which he made some shocking revelations about his nemesis.
Using the instrumental for JAY-Z‘s “The Story of O.J.,” Pusha alleges that Drake is ashamed of the son he had with retired French porn star and artist Sophie Brussaux. He also tries to further embarrass the Young Money sensation by mentioning the troubled relationship of his parents.
However, the thing that might have a more substantial impact on the biracial Toronto artist’s future as a megastar is the artwork that Pusha used. It is a photo of Drake with blackface makeup and wearing a hoodie inspired by the Jim Crow era.
At first, online commenters thought the image was fake, but Pusha did confirm its authenticity and linked to the photographer behind it.
The controversial picture was reportedly part of a photo shoot for a Toronto line, “Too Black Guys.” Drake was involved with the brand in 2008. Some people also linked it to the “Us & Them” campaign that Drake was pushing the same year.
David Leyes took the photos but claims it was Drake’s idea and he is very proud of them.
Nonetheless, in this sensitive era, a lot of damage has been done to Drake’s reputation, and he will probably be forced to release a statement on the matter.
A few music fans have said on social media that they will no longer listen to him.
